Mortgage documentation is your biggest contribution in the initial stages of the application process, but it’s not too difficult to get through it.
Our main message to you is to ensure that you put the time in to it and get it right first time.
- Follow the checklist you are provided by your Mortgage Advisor closely. It’s your responsibility to get all the paperwork requested – if it’s on the checklist, it means it’s needed
- If you are using online statements for your bank accounts they should be full e-statements, on bank headed paper, noting your name and address, full account number and running balance. Transaction printouts are not sufficient
- You need to provide 6 months statements for all of your accounts, no matter how little you might use some of them
- If you have Revolut or N26 that you include 6 months statements for those accounts
- Your photo ID has at least 6 months remaining on it at the point of application
- Don’t submit your documentation ‘on the drip’ to your Mortgage Advisor … set aside a few hours of your time to do it all at once and you’ll make everyone’s life easier and your experience of the process will be much less frustrating
